Fertility Support in Seoul

This project aims to assist fertile men and women who aspire to have a healthy second generation by providing interventions that evaluate and eliminate risk factors impeding healthy pregnancies, ultimately facilitating healthier pregnancies and childbirth.

Target for Examination

  • Prenatal support test for Seoul residents: Residents of Guro-gu (or Seoul citizens working in Guro-gu) who are planning for pregnancy. Necessary supporting documents should be attached. E.g., wedding invitations, family register copies, etc. Online reservation required through Seoul Pregnancy and Childbirth Information Center at http://seoul-agi.go.kr
  • Only the applicant can take the test; men and women should apply separately.
  • Examination Fee: Free

Required Documents

  • Valid ID with Guro District address
  • For employees, a certificate of employment or an employee ID card (that proves employment at a business located in Guro-gu)

Health Checkup Details

  • Anemia, blood sugar, and total cholesterol
  • Liver and kidney function
  • Thyroid function
  • Rubella immunity tests (women)
  • Hepatitis B antibody
  • Sexually transmitted diseases (syphilis, AIDS)
  • Urine test
  • Semen analysis (for men): Conducted on a first-come, first-served basis until budget depletion. The health center issues a referral for testing and consultation at designated medical institutions [refer to below]
  • Ovarian function tests (AMH, etc.): Conducted on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted.
  • Chest X-ray, etc.

*Refrain from alcohol, smoking, sexual relations, and saunas 2~5 days before undergoing semen analysis for accurate test results.
Too long of an abstinence period can also result in a low evaluation of sperm motility. It is recommended to maintain an appropriate period of abstinence.

Precautions

Fast from 10 PM the day before the examination and visit before 11:30 AM on the examination day.
