Nurses for infants and toddlers that have completed professional education visit homes of pregnant mothers and infants residing in the jurisdiction to provide health management services, which include antepartum and postpartum care, breast-feeding, and infant care, contributing to strengthening of nursing ability of parents and the promotion of infant health

Pregnant women in the jurisdiction who are between 20 weeks of pregnancy and 4 weeks after childbirth

Method

Schedule set up in advance before a visit to home through pregnant mother registration and type evaluation, conducted in the Motherhood Office on the 1st floor of the public health center

Details

  • Ordinary visit service (one-time visit within 4 weeks after childbirth) Health assessment of pregnant mothers and infants, socio-psychological assessment of postpartum depression, etc.Education and counseling on rearing methods such as breast-feeding, roles of parents and newborn management, and provision of information related to infant care
  • Continuous visiting service (continuous visits of 20 to 25 times from childbirth to when the baby reaches 2 years of age) Provision of customized health management services based on characteristics of babies’ stages of growth, connection with professional agencies, local resources, and welfare services, etc.
  • Hosting of mothers’ meetings such as family support and self-help groups (internal group activities by parents) Sharing of cases of childbirth and rearing and provision of opportunities to gather information on infant care
