Atopy storytelling education for children

  • Participants: Children between the ages of 5 and 7 from daycare centers (kindergartens) and orphanages in the Guro-gu jurisdiction
  • Period: May - October, 2018
  • Location(s): The corresponding daycare centers (kindergartens) and orphanages
  • Application: Announced on the integrated childcare system in March - April 2018
  • Details
    • A professional children’s storyteller visits the daycare center to conduct storytelling education (30-40 minutes)
    • Raises the level of interest regarding diseases and teaches the proper way to control them through storytelling education tailored to the children’s level
    • Title of the story: “Capture the Atopy Devil King" (from the series of children’s health stories developed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare)

Atopy prevention puppet show education for elementary school students

  • Participants: 1st- and 2nd-grade students at elementary schools in the jurisdiction
  • Period: May - June 2018
  • Location: Auditoriums of the corresponding schools (audiovisual rooms, etc.)
  • Application: Announced on the electronic document system in April 2018
  • Details
    • Content on atopy is composed in a puppet show tailored to the children’s level (50 minutes)
    • Education centered on the proper ways to manage atopic diseases (bathing methods, moisturizer use, etc.) and preventive management rules

Health lectures for residents

  • Participants: Guro-gu residents in the jurisdiction
  • Period: In October 2018
  • Location: Auditorium at the public health center
  • Details
    • Education conducted on various topics to help ongoing management of atopy
    • Lectures held by professional lecturers in the auditorium at the public health center for easy access
  • Promotional process: Operation schedule announced on the integrated childcare system -> Applications submitted in the daycare center unit -> Atopy program held

Atopy medical expense assistance program

  • Recipients: Patients of doctors specializing in allergic diseases as well as allergic disease patients living in Guro-gu (under the age of 18)
  • Atopic dermatitis, bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, food allergy, etc.
  • Criteria for support: Recipients of basic living expenses, recipients of medical care, lower 50% by health insurance fees imposed
  • Application for support: Year-round
  • How to apply: The subject of support uses a hospital and pays the treatment fee first, after which the amount will be provided
  • Details
    • Fee to examine the causal substances of allergic diseases
    • Medical and medicine costs for allergic diseases
  • Documents required
    • Medical expense assistance application for allergic diseases
    • Proof of low income (recipient certificate, medical care card, confirmation of health insurance payment)
    • Copy of resident registration or family relation certificate (family relation must be verified)
    • Original copies of the receipts (each receipt shall be verified by the date on which the patient is treated and administered for an atopic disease, etc.)
    • Document proving the allergic disease (choose 1 between confirmation of medical treatment or a diagnosis)
