Past and present of Guro Digital Industrial Complex
In the 1960`s and 1970`s, Guro Industrial Complex played a central role in creating the Miracle of the Han River with textile, sewing, and other labor-intensive manufacturing businesses. In 2002, the name was changed to Seoul Digital Industrial Complex, discarding the image of smoke-stack industries.
It has been transformed into a high-tech industrial complex of venture, R&D, and state-of-the-art IT industry, and has developed into a largest-scale venture valley with a focus on manufacturing.

Why Guro Digital Industrial Complex
The driving force that helped the Industrial Complex regain its old reputation of being crucial to the economic development of Korea and transformed the Industrial Park into an Industrial Complex successfully was the easy geographical accessibility and various forms of administrative support from the Guro District Administration.
Guro-Gu sends a Market Development Team overseas twice a year for the purpose of promoting Korean companies` exports.
It has founded a support center for small businesses, which provides services in business financing, tax, law, and technical assistance.

Many IT manufacturing companies are entering the Complex due to the reduced acquisition and registration taxes in effect, which are more favorable than those in other areas. Streets and roads will be rerouted in a more logical manner and such efforts as landscaping will be carried out in the streets to create the optimal environment for companies to conduct business.
